BIKRAM YOGA TEACHER, RETREAT COOK
DARA HAIGH
Originally from Canberra, Dara started her Bikram yoga journey in early 2020 during the pandemic and did her first class through zoom with only an air conditioner and a fan heater on.
"I had only ever done one group class of yoga before Bikram. All my experience around yoga before was through youtube videos or doing the same stretches as my mum that she did every morning.
I had always been interested in the idea of a strong and flexible body. When I found Bikram, it taught me a lot more. That it wasn't just about strength and flexibility. It also built a stronger mind for me, helped regulate my emotions and build a better sense of self.”
In April 2023, she went off to do her Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in Thailand.
Dara wants to focus on giving a therapeutic 90 minute class, where all students can receive the right information, heal from their injuries (body or mind) and maintain a consistent practice.
